My main research interests center on the motivational aspects of group processes and intergroup relations. Specifically, I am interested in: (1) The motivational states of "threat" and "challenge" (and their physiological correlates) in relation to intergroup relations and social identity; (2) The psychological functions of in-group bias; and (3) Regulatory focus (or promotion/prevention motivation) in relation to group dynamics.

Primary Interests:

  • Group Processes
  • Intergroup Relations
  • Motivation, Goal Setting
  • Neuroscience, Psychophysiology
  • Prejudice and Stereotyping
  • Self and Identity
